The inaugral Taste Cumbria festival has been hailed a fantastic success!
SK Events were approached to organise this 2 day food extravaganza in the town of Cockermouth in cumbria. The festival aimed to attract visitors to the area after the damaging floods of 2009.
Tens of thousands of visitors attended the festival over the weekend of September 25/26 to see celebrity chefs Aldo Zilli, John Torode and Anthony Worrall Thompson. The regions best local producers sold their wares on Main Street and in Memorial Gardens (most selling out!) and the great restaurants of cumbria served up their signature dishes to the crowds.
Local experts were on hand to share their knowledge in the Masterclass marquee, Carrs flour hosted bread making in the childrens interactive area and the best breweries sold their ales in the festival beer tent.
The best local musical talent showcased their skills on the Main Street dray and the music marquee in Memorial gardens.
The weekend was a resounding success hailed by local businesses and visitors alike!
SK Events were also proud to organise the Taste Cumbria gala dinner hosted by Anthony Worrall Thompson on the friday evening before the festival weekend attended by the best local producers from Cumbria dining on the best local produce.
